DC Kids is a comprehensive summer and year-round academic and enrichment program that enhances leadership and learning through education, adventure, exploration, and teamwork for boys and girls, ages 5-21

DC Kids was developed to address the environmental issues affecting the social behavior of youth in the District of Columbia. DC Kids offers a community mentoring program including a six-week summer enrichment program and a year round after school mentoring program

Each child is provided opportunities to explore his/her interest in the "challenge courses", i.e. dance, computer literacy, conflict resolution, leadership/life skills, business development and sports/recreation activities. The Senior team leaders (ages 19-22) plan activities with the children to develop a sense of the team's individual identity, loyalty, and self-confidence. Junior counselors (Near Peer Mentors ages 114-18) work closely with senior team leaders and the children. The children also explore heath issues, diverse cultures, and go on weekly field trips.
